“Type I PROXY” Magic: The Gathering Tournament

Deck Construction:
- Minimum 60-card deck (no Sideboard); Limit of 4 of any card except
Basic Land.
- Unlimited proxy cards can be used in the deck but each card above
10 proxies costs $0.50. A proxy card has to have the card name,
casting cost and what the card does written legibly on a legal Magic
card (e.g. Ancestral Recall - U – target player draws 3 cards).
Usually a land card is used for this purpose.

Format:
- First 3½ hours of the tournament are Open Play with the top 32
Finalists playing in the “Wizard” Bracket.
- Open Play Finalists in positions 33 to 160+ play in the “Sorcerer”
Bracket.
- Each player will be guaranteed at least 3½ hours of playtime!
- Winners in open play will “roll” for additional prizes.
- Minimum prizes: Top 8 (4 if less than 40 players) in the Wizard
Bracket and top 4 in the Sorcerer Bracket.
FYI: Top 16 people received prizes at the last tournament!
- Minimum 10 games required in open play and players who complete
fewer than 10 games would have losses added to their record to add
up to 10 games.
- All Finals are best 2-of-3 games, single elimination format, with
60-minute time limits.
- Side tournaments may be held in the afternoon for ousted players,
using the same decks, at no additional cost.
- There may be a booster draft later in the afternoon for an
additional charge if there is sufficient interest. Get 8 players
together and we will run a booster draft. Please bring extra land if
you wish to play in this format event. Cost will be $15.
Special Rules:
- Current DCI Oracle rules in effect, including all card errata.
- A legible deck list, with your name on it, is required to enter
the tournament. Please mark a “P” beside cards that are proxy cards
on the deck list.
- The same minimum 60-card deck must be used for the entire
tournament.
- Sleeves must be clear or non-reflective opaque sleeves.
- Cards from Unhinged, Unglued, and Portal sets are not allowed
except for those printed in other, legal sets.
- A physical means must be used to keep track of your life total.
- Minimum 60 players required for the Mox prize. If there are less
than 60 players, the Gauntlets will be the top prize. The Mox may be
bought for $8/person <60. E.g. if there are 50 people, the 1st place
Mox will cost $80 [$8x10 people].
